Saskatchewan Genealogical Society (SGS) Board of

Directors is initiating a search for an Executive Director

to replace the retiring incumbent. This is an exciting

position with a variety of challenges awaiting the right

person. The position is located in Regina and the

position reports to and is accountable to the Board of

Directors.

Responsibility for the Administration, Finance,

Personnel, Program Management and Communication

for the Society fall into this role. Computer, supervisory,

accounting and public relations skills will be required for

the successful candidate.

1527	FIRST LETTER WRITTEN FROM CANADA St. John's Newfoundland - John Rut writes to English King Henry VIII noting that there are 14 French and Portuguese fishing vessels in the harbour; also describes Labrador; the first recorded letter written from Canada.

SASKATCHEWAN GENEALOGICAL SOCIETY INTRODUCES DAY PASS

The Saskatchewan Genealogical Society now offers a $10.00 day pass for non-members to access "members only" databases. At present the pass is only available at the Library and Research Room. SGS plans to offer the pass for online access to patrons who are not able to visit the library in person.
