Kingston Ontario - Captain Pierre Pouchot and the Guienne regiment sail from Fort Frontenac with orders to rebuild the fortifications at Niagara; new colonial war beginning; starts line of fortifications from Lake Ontario to the bank of the Niagara River, with a wall flanked by two projecting bastions, in the manner of Vauban's great European fortresses.
