SGS Volunteer Opportunities

We have the following openings for Volunteers

Obituary Digitization Project

Opportunity located at SGS Library and Research Room, Regina, SK

                Monday –Friday, 10:00am – 4:30pm

One – two hour sessions (or longer is volunteer wishes)

Scan obituary, save images

Library Cataloguing (to New Library System)

Opportunity located at SGS Library and Research Room, Regina, SK

                Monday –Friday, 10:00am – 4:30pm

One – two hour sessions (or longer is volunteer wishes)

                Transfer information from old catalogue to new

Computer Corner

                Contributor to the SGS Bulletin “Computer Corner”

                Provide information on new websites of interest to genealogists

                Provide information on new technology of interest to genealogists

                Answer simple technical queries

                Test and recommend site and software

                Other information as deemed useful to genealogist

SRI Indexing and Proofing

                Index SGS resources as determined by the SRI Co-ordinator

                Work from home

                Data entry, proofing and correcting

Obituary Database Entry

                Work from home and minimal training required

                Extract information from obituary images provided by SGS

Indexing United Church Records pre -1926

                Location: Saskatchewan Archives, Saskatoon, SK

One – two hour sessions (or longer is volunteer wishes)
